Get to Morro de São Paulo by Bus

As with cars no busses can enter Morro de Sao Paulo. If you need to get to Morro by bus the best option is to get to the closest city to Morro which is Valença.

There are busses from sevaral Brazilian cities such as Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo directly to Valença. If you come from a town with no direct bus commection to Valença you might want to travel to Salvador and from there take the bus to Valença.

The ferry boat departs from the harbor 'Terminal Marítimo de São Joaquim' and heads to Terminal Bom Despacho at Itaparica. It currently costs R$ 3,65 on weekdays and R$ 4,80 on weekends and public holidays. The ferry takes around 45 minutes to reach Itaparica and leaves every 1h10.

When in Valença you can take a ferry boat to Morro de Sao Paulo. There are regular boats for 7R$ which take around 1:30h and speed boats for 14R$ which takes around 30-40 minutes. The boats leave every full hour. The last boat leaves at 6 PM.
