If you don't want to just relax in the sun all day and want a little more action there are many options in Morro. Below are some tips for activities and sports you will encounter in Morro de São Paulo.

  • Tiroleza
    TirolesaIf you like thrill and a push of adrenalin then try the 'Tiroleza' - a wild canopy ride which starts from the lighthouse (Farol) at the top of the highest hill of the island and goes down 70 meters into the Atlantic ocean. It costs around 25 R$.






  • Natural Swimming Pools
    Natural Swimming PoolsIn contrast relaxing in one of the many 'natural swimming pools' is one of the most laid back programs you can enjoy on the island. You can observe many beautiful colored fish. The location of time you will find the natural pools depend on the tide.They usually are located at the 4th beach. Ask for 'piscinas naturais' at your hotel. This is a wonderful exerience for adults and kids you must not miss even when you not snorkeling. You can even touch and feed the fish all around you. Also it is free of charge . There are no organzied trips to visit the pools. Just go to the 4th beach and look where you see a small crowd of people 100 meters off the coast. You can usually swim or even walk there through water.


  • Walk to Gamboa
    Gamboa Beach A nice trip if you like walking along beautiful, deserted beaches is a walk to Gamboa. The walks takes about 30 minutes and show you some amazing lonely beaches along the coast of Morro SP. You can only walk during low-tide because some beaches on the way almost completely disappear during high-tide. On the way you will find a place where you encounter natural mud you can use totreat your skin. Ask at your hotel when is the best time to go.

    You can also take a boat from the port of Morro de SP to Gamboa. Boats pass regularly and you can even wave at them and they'll come to the beach to pick you up. The best option is to walk from Morro SP to Gamboa during low-tide, then take a break and eat some delicious seafood at the beach of Gamboa and then take the boat back when there is high tide. The boat takes only 10 minutes to go back to Morro SP


  • Diving
    DivingWith crystal clear waters and several coral riffs and beautully colored fish Morro de São Paulo is a paradise for divers - in particular because it is not yet overcrowded. All beaches are perfect for snorkeling and on the 4th beach you can also dive into deeper waters. You can rent all equipment you need right at the beach.


  • Surf
    If you like to surf there are some good places at Morro de SP to catch some decent waves. The best spots for surfers in Morro de Sao Paulo are: Pedra do Moleque and Quebrancinha, both located on the First Beach. The best months for surfing are June thru September. If you are just starting out you can learn surfing at one of the local surf schools. Surf boards can be rented is various locations on the beach.


  • Banana Boat
    Banana boat If you like some wet water-action you can take a ride on the banana-boat on the 1st beach.










  • Kayak
    Another option for more relaxing water sports is to rent a kajak or paddle boat and pass along the shore. Places to rent boats are located on the 1st and 3rd beach.


  • Horseback Riding
    A perfect way to enjoy is relaxing life at Morro de SP beaches is to ride on a horse along the deserted parts of the 4th and the more remote 5th beach.
