Morro de São Paulo has a vast choice of restaurants - both in the village and on th e beaches. You will find lots of international dishes such as pizza and pasta and typical Brazilian food.
Most restaurants in the village are located at the main road and the main square. One thing typical for Bahia is that you can have your meal on the beach and get served while sitting in your chair under your sunshade. Usually when you sit down underneath a sunshade it will be part of a beach restaurant and the waiter will offer your the menu.
If you are a seafood lover you can feel yourself at home as there are many choices of fresh seafood (be grilled, fried or cooked) - which is common for a place located at the sea. A typical seafood dish you should try is called Moquecua. This is a typical dish from Bahia with onion, tomato, pepper, palm oil and coconut milk. If you don't like palm oil try the 'light' version of Moqueca called Ensopado.
If you don't like fish or seafood you can also have many types of meat. The Brazilian beef is excellent and inexpensive.
You should definitely try the different types of fresh fruit juices. There are many types of fruits that you might never have heared of - even if you are familiar with Brazilian fruits. Some examples are graviola, acerola, pitanga, cajá, umbu, etc. There are many types of candy and cakes served on special cafés at the main road and at the beaches.
