Night Life

The night life in Morro de São Paulo starts in the main street - Rua Caminho da Praia - which translates as 'road to the beach'. It is the place where people meet and many have dinner. This picturesque street has an incredible atmophere with life music from the noumerous bars and restaurants.

Here you can find all types of places to eat and observer the street life. You can go shopping in one of the many small stores or at the street market around the main square.

Another thing you should definitely try is to have a drink in one of the 'caipifruta' stands. Here you get all types of caipirinhas - not only with lemon but with all types of fruits (mango, pineapple and many fruits you have never heard of.

After dinner and a walk through the town you can start enjoying the night in one of the noumerous beach parties - many of which will last until the sunrise.

  • Parties on the 2nd Beach
    Who says that Morro de SP only has baches for the day? On Thursdays after 11PM go to the second beach and you will see what people on the island call 'luau' - a hot party on the beach with free admission where people from all over the world meet and dance to the sound of all types to rhythms and have cold drinks.

  • Pulsar
    The Pulsar is a club in the middle of the woods gorgeously located on the way to the fortress. The club plays all types of music and is a must-go for all party animals visiting the island.

  • Toca do Morcego
    Toca do MorcegoToca do Morcego is a cool chill-out type of bar with a marvellous view over the ocean. You can reach it in 5 minutes from the gate following the trail up to the lighthouse.
    You have a wonderful view of the sunset with some cool and chilliing electro beats. After the sun has gone down you have live music and candle lights.
    You should go there between 5pm and 6pm to secure a good spot to see the sunset. The athmosphere is breathtaking and has a magical calming effect - a must-see to leave all the stress and problems behind.
  • Morro Theatre  
    The Morro Theatre is another option for the night. It is located in Rua da Mangaba in an amphitheater and is open on Wednesdays.
