The first bach has crystal clear waters and is confined by the rocky hill with the lighthouse at the top on one side and by some rocks leading to the second beach on the other side. This beach is the one closest to the village. It was here where the first summer houses were built which nowadays are mostly restaurants or hostels. Here you will also find a handful of small beach baracks which are typical for Bahia. On these beach baracks you can sit down and have a beer and taste some delicious seafood. Since the chairs belong to the barcks owners you should only sit down if you are willing to eat or at least drink something. Despite being so close to the village you will not see too many tourists but more locals. Tourists usually prefer the second or third beach.
It is here on the first beach that adrenalin junikes dive into the water after descending with wild caopy ride (Tiroleza) from the lighthouse. It is also the spot where the banana boat leaves for a ride. It is also a good spot to dive and surf. For surfers the best spots to catch a good wave are at Pedra do Moleque and Quebrancinha.
