Located 3 miles from the villages lies the 5th beach - also called Praia do Encanto. It is the best preserved beach of Morro de SP and a true ecological paradise. You will find there a scenario of rare almost untouched beauty and nature - with coconut trees and atlantic forest, mangrove trees and rivers. The beach is more than a mile long with fine white sand and is almost deserted.
Due to a great coral reef several natural pools emerge during certain hours of the day - depending on the tide. This is perfect for snorcheling and also for diving. You can observer many colored specieds of fish. At low tide you can also walk across several sand banks off the beach.
There are only few hotels on the fifth beach. The restaurants you find there exclusively belong to the hotels. Far from the crowd and the party life the 5th beach is perfect for those who seek loneliness and privacy.
Even if you don't stay on this beach it is worth planning a visit to get to know this refuge of calmness and untouched nature to take a bath in crystal-clear waters. You get to the 5th beach simply by continuing your walk from the 4th beach. The two beaches are separated by a mangrove forest which you can easily pass by walking through the water at low tide (please check the appropriate times of the tides.) Remember that it is quite a distance to walk and there are no lights at night so plan to return before sunset. Also you might want to take some water with you.
